Breath of the Forest

Dappled light strokes my shoulder
The morning soil is soft and kind
Called by the song of a bird
I take one deep, quiet breath
Stepping onto the narrow path
I learn that there is no need to rush
Waving branches reach out to me
Welcoming me into the day

The wind gently pushes me forward
Brushing away the dust from my heart
Nothing more is needed to be whole
I am filled by this stillness

I am happy, right here

The scent of grass lingers on my fingers

The rustling leaves seem to understand
